About Me
I’m Jodie a writer and obsessed dog mum to Wally.
I’ve spent years working to understand SEO best practices and how Google reads websites to decide what it will show users. I now use this knowledge to help pet businesses and brands optimise their website for Google with keyword research, content strategy and creation. I combine years of experience in SEO with my knowledge as a loving and little-obsessed pet parent, to help your business become more SEO-optimised.
How It Works
1

Book your Simple SEO site audit
Fill out the form at the bottom of this page with a range of information to help me understand your business. I will then schedule your audit into my calender and send you an invoice.
2

SEO site audit & report is completed
I’ll let you know when your audit is scheduled and confirm payment has been made. I will then complete the SEO site audit as scheduled and build a report for you to review.
3

Get your SEO site audit report
I’ll email the reports in Google sheet format along with an accompanying Loom video of me talking you through the ins and outs of what I found and how it can impact SEO.
I would also appreciate it if you could fill in a post-completion questionnaire about your experience, including a review.
What’s included in your Simple SEO site audit?

Title tags + Meta descriptions
I’ll look at meta descriptions and title tags on each page. Checking all pages have a title tag and meta description that is unique and the appropriate length.
I’ll also offer suggestions if needed.

Link & heading review
I’ll check that all relevant links are being crawled by Google and that there aren’t any broken links. Plus there will be some review of the headings on your site to ensure Google isn’t getting signals like too many H1 headings which can trigger their spam filter.

Image Optimisation
I’ll check that you’re optimising the images on your website the best you can. This includes ensuring the file sizes aren’t too big and that they all have alt text.
I will highlight the images that need their alt text added.

DISCLAIMER:
There are no guarantees when it comes to the beast that is Google. Finding out some of the issues on your site that may be preventing you from ranking in the search results is good information, but you can’t guarantee changes to your results. My SEO Site Audit for Pet Businesses will help you understand where you can improve your website, but so many factors come into SEO.
Other factors will also impact your rankings, including:
- Your technical website set-up – this may be discussed in your audit, but to action any changes, you’d need to seek out a technical SEO specialist or web developer.
- Backlink strategy – this would involve reaching out to reputable publications and writing content for them or seeking to list your business on their website with a link back to your website.
- Domain authority – this is built through your backlink strategy and overall SEO growth.
- Changes to search engine algorithms – these are one of the most unpredictable parts of SEO because we can never know precisely what Google is thinking.
- How you use your keywords – having and knowing the keywords that suit your brand isn’t enough. You need to ensure you’re using them in the most optimised way.
- The quality of your content – the better the quality of your content, the better your ranking on Google.
But understanding where your website could improve is a significant first step to improving SEO performance.
